Sisters Mentally Mobilized - Sacramento

We are excited to build with you in this movement! We believe our sisters throughout the state, including Sacramento, deserve to feel well physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, and spiritually!

About Our Sister Circle

19 incredibly passionate women makeup our SMM Sacramento Cohort. Utilizing skills and information gained from CABWHP Advocate Training Program (ATP) we are transforming our communities by reducing the stigma of mental health beginning with ourselves, our families, and finally communities.

SMM-SAC ENGAGEMENT PROJECT

Over the course of two years SMM-SAC will engage more than 1,000 Black women and girls, 40 volunteers, and a dozen partners in 28 culturally infused, mental health focused events, trainings, and activities. These trainings, events, and activities will be developed, hosted, and evaluated by a team of amazing Black women who completed CABWHPs Sisters Mentally Mobilized 9-week advocate training program and graduated as community mental health advocates. Together, this cohort of Sacramento-area residents bring 100+ years of combined education, training, lived, professional and practical experience, certifications, and a commitment to mobilizing for better mental health and wellness in the Black community.

OUR MOBILIZATION EFFORTS

SMM-Sac has had the opportunity to support the healing and well-being of Sisters in Sacramento. Our mobilization efforts include but are not limited to events we attended and some that we hosted:
- Black Women's Health and Wellness Conference
- Black Women's March
- Impact of COVID-19 on Midwifery
- Pre-Holiday Sister Circle
