Supporting Black women's health through advocacy, education, policy, and outreach

Our mission at the California Black Women's Health Project is to advocate for policies and practices that promote and improve physical, spiritual, mental and emotional well-being of Black women and girls in California. With your help, we can train more Black women health advocates, educate more policymakers, and continue to raise the needs of Black women throughout the state.

The Giving F.O.R.W.A.R.D. Collective

Picture
California Black Women’s Health Project is honoring our past, present, and future by opening The Giving F.O.R.W.A.R.D Collective. Since 1994, California Black Women’s Health Project has been the only 501(c)(3) non-profit organization solely dedicated to improving the health of California's Black women and girls through advocacy, education, policy, and outreach. We are committed to advocating for policies and practices that promote and improve the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional well-being of the 1.2 million Black women and girls in California.

It is no secret that gross disparities in funding for Black women-led, organizations remain our most significant challenge. Inequities in philanthropic giving, and private, and public support leave organizations like CABWHP in a constant state of addressing significantly greater needs and requests for services from our communities relative to the availability of resources to support those needs and requests.

We are required to do considerably more with less. With your help we can support the health & wellness of Black women, girls, families & communities.
