HIV and STIs

CABWHP elevated our outreach and awareness efforts in the areas of HIV/AIDs and Sexually Transmitted Infections via partnerships with the National Black Women's Health Imperative (BWHI) and the California Black Health Network (CBHN). This work is part of an initiative of The California Wellness Foundation on HIV/AIDS/STIs prevention and treatment for women of color.

Community Forums on HIV/STIs

Picture
The California Black Women’s Health Project is currently supporting community forums to address the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS and STIs on women of color across California to better ascertain the support and provisions necessary for tailored prevention, primary care, health education and outreach to women of color at risk for, or living with, HIV, AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections.

As part of an initiative with CA Black Health Network, California Black Women's Health Project will be hosting screenings of the film "Even Me" directed by Megan Ebor, to encourage dialog about the increase of HIV among Black women over 50 years. This project focuses on developing and implementing a collaborative statewide outreach and education campaign focusing on HIV/STI prevention for Black women.
