Uplifting the holistic well-being of women, girls, families and communities across the state
We're hosting a series of our signature Sister Circle and Community Circle fundraising events throughout the year in celebration of our 30th anniversary. These gatherings are designed to foster connection, support and empowerment among our community. Each event will feature meaningful discussions, personal stories and bonding activities, creating an affirming and nurturing space for our community to thrive.
The Well Legacy
A few years after California Black Women's Health Project was established, The Well, a women's self help resource center offering a blend of health resources and wellness activities on the first floor of a low income housing complex in South Central, Los Angeles. More than 6,000 women benefited from The Well. Read research about The Well here. In honor of this legacy, our 2024 signature Sister Circle and Community Circle events will be part of the "Sisters at The Well" series. Join us in honoring our past, celebrating our present and envisioning our path F.O.R.W.A.R.D. (For Our Rights, Wellness, Advocacy, Resources and Descendants) by attending, supporting or sponsoring Sisters at The Well.
