12 DAYS OF WELLNESS CAMPAIGN

ROOTED IN OUR "12 COMMANDMENTS OF GOOD MENTAL HEALTH"

Celebrating 30 Years of Empowering Black Women, Girls and Families

What is the 12 Days of Wellness Campaign?

In celebration of California Black Women’s Health Project’s 30th anniversary, the 12 Days of Wellness campaign kicks off on December 1st, focused on promoting mental health and wellness for Black women, girls and families. Over 12 days, participants will engage in daily activities based on the 12 Commandments of Good Mental Health, a tool we developed to support emotional and mental well-being. Beginning November 22nd and throughout the campaign, our community will also create fundraising teams and donate to help provide essential resources, advance mental health support and ensure access to wellness and advocacy programs. This holiday season, join us in fostering healing, building community and providing support by participating in this impactful campaign.
Share, fundraise and participate online using #12DaysofWellness.

Why This Matters:
  • Mental Health Disparities: Black women are 50% less likely to receive mental health treatment compared to white women.
  • Racial Discrimination: 45% of Black women report regular race-based discrimination, leading to elevated anxiety and stress.
  • Crisis Among Black Youth: Suicide rates among Black youth are rising, with unique challenges in California.
  • Lack of Culturally Competent Care: Only 4% of psychologists in the U.S. are Black, creating barriers to culturally relevant mental health services.

DONATE
