DAY FOUR - 12 DAYS OF WELLNESS CAMPAIGN

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4TH
"KNOW YOUR LIMITS; SET HEALTHY BOUNDARIES."

Welcome to Day Four of the "12 Days of Wellness" campaign!

Picture
In honor of California Black Women’s Health Project’s 30th anniversary, today we're reminding you, through this empowering campaign, to: "Know your limits; set healthy boundaries." Sometimes we can struggle to set boundaries with ourselves and others that can keep us feeling burdened and overwhelmed. This can show up in many areas of our lives, including our finances. We encourage you to explore today's resources to help set and maintain healthy boundaries!
Today's Activities:
1. Join us today, December 4th, for a workshop with hosting in partnership with Ed. Opal!
Join us today, December 4th, for a transformative virtual workshop that brings the fourth commandment of mental health—"Know Your Limits; Set Healthy Boundaries"—to life. In partnership with Ed. Opal, a trailblazing organization founded by Khayla McCoy to close gender and racial wealth gaps, this session centers on culturally relevant personal finance education tailored specifically for Black women.

5. Try a Boundary Setting Exercise!
Select one or more of the below activities to try out for yourself and share your reflections on social media with the hashtag #12DaysofWellness or include your thoughts in the "12 Days of Wellness" Whatsapp Group Chat!

  • Try journaling or reflecting on a time you had to say no. What feelings did that bring up for you. Did you find the situation challenging? How did you feel after?
  • Practice setting boundaries by using any opportunities that arise throughout your day to state your needs and say no if you need
  • Try a 5-4-3-2-1- grounding technique to reconnect with yourself and the present moment.
    • Once you feel grounded and mindful you take time to consider what is and isn’t working for you in the present moment and what boundaries may be needed to change the things that aren’t working
    • See the video below for step by step instructions on how to do this technique
